They also increase the amount of saliva, which is one of the anticaries insurance that we naturally have in our mouth. There is no better 'bad habit' for a child than picking up pieces of greens and vegetables while we try to make a salad.

Broccoli, garlic, and green pepper to some extent protect against cavities when eaten raw or undercooked (not too soft). A child who has all kinds of healthy foods at his disposal will be perfectly capable of spontaneously deciding what to eat, which is why it is important to have fresh food at home. If there are cookies, he will go get cookies. But if there is an attractive container with sticks and colored balls (carrot, red pepper, peas fresh from the pod ...), you will love to put that in your mouth.

To eat between meals it is better for the child a sandwich of loaf bread, and if possible ham, than requires strong incisors and pulling while holding the sandwich, better than a sandwich of sliced ​​bread, which does not require much effort and also because of its consistency it stays closer to the teeth and for longer, thus increasing the risk of cavities.

Processed foods, juices, yogurts, smoothies, chips and all kinds of bag snacks, dairy desserts, cookies (organic, wholegrain and for diabetics included), baby and adult cereals, chocolate, cereal bars, etc. etc. are from high risk of cavities and we must bear in mind that it is not good for the teeth to take them between meals, for dessert or more frequently than 2-3 times a week.
